I am a certified Health Coach having graduated from the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM). CNM is one of UK’s largest, well known and highly respected training providers in the UK and Ireland.
I specialise in Type 2 Diabetes & Weight Loss, How to Live Well for Longer and How to deal with Stress in the Workplace. If you are struggling to lose weight or would simply like a healthier, brighter lifestyle then you may benefit from a consultation.
I am passionate about helping people achieve their best potential. Having worked in the corporate world, theatre arts and television I can see the demands placed on the individual where the expectation is to deliver, not only good results but, exceptional outcomes. This, in turn, takes its toll on the mind, body and soul. I am fully conversant with the challenges of trying to follow a healthy lifestyle whilst juggling a stressful job. With a little collaboration and understanding we can come up with a holistic and nurturing programme suitable for your individual need.
I continue to learn and deepen my knowledge of nutrition, fitness and energy medicine. New studies are done every day and with them new research information comes to light. I love keeping up with what’s happening in the health world and so I regularly attend CPD (continued professional development) lectures and seminars. This brings me up to date with new research, practical application and most importantly, safe practise.
I am registered with ANP (Association of Naturopathic Practitioners) and am fully insured by Balens.
What is Health Coaching
A health coach works to facilitate holistic healthy lifestyle changes through nutritional education, physical activity and behavior change.
A Health Coach helps you gain knowledge, skills, tools and confidence to take responsibility of your diet and lifestyle helping you to achieve your health goals.
Health or dis-ease comes from a complex interaction of physical, emotional, dietary, genetic, environmental, lifestyle and other factors. I have been trained to look at the whole person, taking all of these factors into account. By using food and energy to address imbalances in the body and exercise to suit you, symptoms are often minimised.
I adopt a holistic approach therefore prior to the initial consultation you will be sent a health diary and a short questionnaire to complete which will help to build a picture of you. The first consultation will last between 1 to 1.5 hours.
I believe that lifestyle and diet plays a big part in leading a healthy life. I will help you to understand this, and how small lifestyle changes can have a big impact on supporting all areas of health including emotional and psychological well-being.
During this time, I will gather information about your health through careful history taking. We will discuss your body systems, I will ask you about your health from birth to present day, your level of physical exercise, your lifestyle, life stresses and dietary habits. I will explain how these factors may be contributing to your health issues. I will also ask you about the areas of your health that you would like to optimize and the goals you'd like to achieve.
From this, a holistic programme will be developed that is completely unique to you. Your treatment plan will reflect the goals that we agree for you, including nutritional advice and lifestyle changes. I may also recommend alternative or complementary therapies to assist you on your health journey.
Follow-up consultations usually last around 30 mins and enable us to review your progress and make appropriate adjustments to your treatment plan. I normally recommend a follow up 1 or 2 weeks after the initial consultation. However, we will agree on this together as each person and nutritional programme is different.
Why are follow-ups necessary?
Health Coaching is a step by step process, working towards an end goal. Therefore, several sessions are usually required in order to complete this process. Follow-ups are your opportunity to ask any questions about your ongoing treatment and discuss any changes you are experiencing. I also help with food shopping and recipe ideas to inspire my clients, taking into account their individual likes and dislikes and tailoring the coaching plan accordingly.
